Canonbury Park South

LPA were approached by the buyers of this Grade II listed, early Victorian semi-detached house with a brief to modernise and repair the existing building. The house had previously been renovated in the 1960s by the Architect owner, who stripped it of original features. We worked closely with the Conservation department of Islington Council, the local conservation society and the client to carefully restore the features appropriate to the age of the property. In conjunction with the detailed restoration, our client's brief led us to challenge the guidelines to reach a design solution to extend the property which complimented the existing building whilst creating a contemporary family space.
