Built to replace an existing house and with a brief to provide a modern 4,000 square foot, five bedroom family home on a private road in Sevenoaks, the steeply sloping site on which the house sits provided the main source of inspiration for this design. Having raised the entrance level by half a storey to accommodate the slope down to the property, the resulting change in level across the house creates an exciting mix of varying height spaces that interlock around the main stair atrium, reflected most obviously in the predominantly glazed rear façade.  Combined with a series of energy saving devices, including a ground source heat pump, this modern design aims to stand apart as a forward thinking design for future houses to come.
