New residential apartments at Jameson Lodge receive approval

Jameson Lodge

After a lengthy process of negotiations with the planners and local residents, at a planning committee meeting on Monday 9th January Lipton Plant Architects gained consent for five new one-bedroom apartments to be added to Jameson Lodge, a private residential building containing 11 flats on Shepherds Hill in the Crouch End Conservation Area.

The scheme involves the creation of a new additional storey on top of the existing apartment block to contain three new one-bedroom flats, and formation of two further one-bedroom flats at basement level.

The scheme received mixed reviews from local residents prior to being heard at committee following a previous application to extend the property had been refused in 2006 . Last night however, councillors voted to approve the current scheme in line with Haringey Planning Department’s recommendation. In addition to the new residential units, the works will include for re-landscaping and improved lighting to the communal space around the apartment building and its car parking area.

Lipton Plant Architects are delighted with the consent and look forward to the construction of the proposals now moving ahead.
