Clerkenwell Design Week 2012
London showed the design world how it’s done last month for Clerkenwell Design Week. For three days (22nd – 24th May) Angel to Farringdon lit up with masses of open house showcases, exhibitions, workshops and parties and we went along to see what was new in Architecture and Interior Design.
The Order of St John’s and the House of Detention were hives of activity with the Farmiloe building acting as the central hub for companies to exhibit their products. Weaving through the grand staircase we were presented of a maze of spaces showcasing cutting edge design from furniture and furnishings, lighting, innovative building materials and much more.
One of the highlights for me was attending the Poltrona Frau Group Party on the Wednesday night. Poltrona Frau is a leader in top of the range furniture and 90 years since it was founded they showed us the best of Italian design with a great event to celebrate their expertise in creating beautiful pieces.
