Talbot Road is an Edwardian semi-detached house located close to the amenities of Highgate. Prior to construction, the property comprised of three large rooms to the ground floor, a front lounge, a rear dining space and a rear kitchen which sat at lower level to the rest of the ground floor. Our proposal was to reduce the floor level of the rear dining room to bring it in line with that of the kitchen and to knock through between the two rear rooms to create a new kitchen, dining and informal living space. By lowering the floor to the rear room we increased the existing high ceilings and all decorative features were lovingly reinstated and/or restored. The entrance hall was modified to allow access to the lower level through a set of tall glass doors, giving views of the beautifully landscaped garden beyond. The back of the building has been completely transformed to create a new, lighter and modern living space for either entertaining friends or just lounging with the family.
