NLA New Ideas for Housing Exhibition – 15 October – 17 December 2015

Amongst the industry’s leading designers and thinkers, Lipton Plant Architects are currently on display at the Building Centre as part of the NLA New Ideas for Housing Exhibition showcasing the shortlisted entries for a competition of the same name.

Our entry ‘Connect’ proposed a rethink of shared housing by which private living quarters are provided with access to shared facilities. The opportunity of the model would be an increase in housing density by up to 50%, providing cost effective built for purpose rentals, or genuinely affordable entry level housing.

In his key note speech at the exhibition’s opening event last night, New London Architecture chairman Peter Murray stated, “there is no silver bullet to solve the housing crisis”. We look forward to being part of the ongoing dialogue, and continue to strive for new and innovative ways of designing and procuring housing.
